Mountain Top Removal....Get real

Genesis 8:5 (New International Version)

5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

It's a wonder why we would take one of God's most beautiful creations in this environment and widdle it down to nothing just for the sake of fuel when there are other alternatives out there that have been explored or are waiting to be explored.

Renewable energy sources are renewable in nature and do not include things like coal, and oil. They are the sun, wind, and things that we can reuse and recycle.

We have found that certain vehicles are able to run on the used grease that we utilize daily from fast food chains and other places.

Many people are going to solar paneling on their homes for energy solutions. This option alone makes perfect sense. Why not use a resource that's plentiful and abundant. For example in Louisville Ky the sun is typically out 15 hours a day. Imagine charging your solar panel during these 15 hours and receiving enough solar energy to power things in your home. Ideally your refrigerator and freezer during the night.

Wind energy is another option that is being researched and used nowadays and gives us an alternative to coal.

Instead of destroying something that is irreplaceable in nature. Why not use what nature can give us that is plentiful, renewed, and safe.

If we continue to deplete God's beautiful work we will deprive our children and our children's children the chance to see this creation before there very own eyes.

Mountain top removal is not only visibly atrocious, its hard on land, bad for the environment, and a resource that should NOT be used for energy.

Running in my blood.

There is something to be said about a joggers high. Its INCREDIBLE!!! But for me its definatly a runners high. I have been a runner since junior high and even if i take a couple months off from running every now and then it always seems to lure me back in.
Running in my blood. My dad was a runner who held records at his old high school in wisconsin. I remember he would tell me stories when i was young about him being a runner. It always kept my attention and intrigued me about the whole running buisness.

So in junior high I joined competitve athletics and started my love for running. In high school I tryed out for cross country as a freshman, and after the first couple of meets discovered that long distance races at the time was definatly not for me. I am a Sprinter. I joined track that spring and did very well. I found that 400 meter, 100 meter dash, and 100 meter hurdles was my race.
Now at age 25 I still love to run. I have fine tuned me running to adapt to whatever distance I am going for. I have decided to try my hand in a 5k. Which will be held at the Lousville zoo. I am definatly looking forward to it and the experience will, as all of my races and runs have been, exhilerating.

Spring is here

Spring is finally here and the weather is beautiful. This means more of us are going to come out of winter shell and utilize the great out doors and all it has to offer. This benefits us and nature in many ways.

Getting out and and enjoying the warmth and sunshine enlightnes out mood. The vitamin D that is absorbed is great for our mind and happiness. We are deprived of so much of it in the winter that most of us develop the winter blues. So get out and and soak up the rays, with some adage of sunscreen of course.

Taking advantage of the weather can save us money, our health, and save the enironment. Biking, walking, running or jogging, are great ways of transportation and exercise. It is great on the environment.... Less green house emmision = less polution, Exhalation = great CO2 levels for our plants to breath. The less we drive for short distance errands the more money we save in gas.

Go to the park, bike, exercise, and just enjoy the great sunshine. Its free vitamin D and free fun!!!
